Essential: · Bachelors degree in Electrical/Electronic (or similar) Engineering (min. 2.2 Hons.) or other Engineering qualification with significant commensurate experience. · Full UK driving licence and access to a car.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: · Production of the suite of deliverables such as: Basis of Designs, Scopes of Work, Method Statements, Schedules, Single Line Diagrams, Block Cable Diagrams, Procurement Specifications, Risk Assessments, Technical Files, etc. and other technical documentation to comply with design standards, safety legislation / regulatory requirements and Client requirements. · Lead input on assigned projects. · Preparation of designs and specifications to satisfy Client and International / British Standards. · Preparation of supporting calculations to substantiate designs. · Preparation of installation, commissioning, and operating documents. · Ensure compliance of own work and that of others with in-house Quality Assurance and Management system. · Attend site as required to support projects, this may involve travel (in the UK) and time away from the home office. (Not exceeding 2 nights away per fortnight). · Peer review of other EC&I team members deliverables. · Actively attend and contribute to design and safety reviews (including HAZIDs, HAZOPs, etc.) from a technical standpoint. · Planning and allocation of workload to members of design team in order to deliver packages of work. · Liaise with Sub-Contractors providing equipment packages or specialist services, and ensure the technical compliance of their work. · Effectively report progress and take ownership for the timely delivery of assigned work packs to project management. · Co-ordinate resources assigned to project task forces. · Provide site and sales support, including the development of proposals. · Maintain and develop up-to-date specialist knowledge and to provide expertise and engineering/technical skills at a specialist level in areas including: o Control systems including PLC, SCADA, DCS, etc. o Analysers and other instrumentation systems and their requirements. o Design standards and requirements of the industry. o Communications systems and interfacing requirements. · Coach and facilitate the development of the skill levels of other members of the team and to assist with planning for the training of staff. · Effect various other tasks and duties which may be allocated from time to time by the department lead. EXPERIENCE: Essential: · Minimum 15 years experience in large scale process projects. · Detailed knowledge of control systems networking, PLC systems, DCS systems. · Significant experience of working with P&IDs and the HAZOP process. · Knowledge of IEC 61508 / 61511 / 61513. · Significant experience of procurement of automation equipment. · Significant experience of working in a multi-discipline environment on high value projects. · Significant experience of interacting with Client representatives. · Experience of working with Sub-Contractors. · Significant experience in the application and specification of automation systems, PLCs, etc. · Detailed knowledge of current UK technical standards / publications and legislation requirements · Detailed knowledge of the Engineering Design process. · Fully computer literate. · Security clearance or ability to get. · Specific expertise in one or more of the following industries: food processing / primary pharmaceutical / secondary pharmaceutical / fine chemicals. Desirable: · Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Visio. · Proficiency with AMTECH. · Knowledge of BS7671 IET Wiring Regulations. · Knowledge of Low Voltage systems. · Experience in the application and specification of electrical equipment and MCCs. · Experience of ISA 88 batch management. · Knowledge of ATEX / DSEAR and hazardous areas. · Experience in the specification and selection of field instrumentation.
