Construction Document Control Manager in Idaho Falls, Idaho, United States

Full-time Construction Project Document Controls Manager, taking day-to-day direction from the Project Manager. Has overall responsibility for managing the Document Control department and systems for an NQA-1 nuclear construction project in compliance with applicable requirements, including nuclear regulations and contract requirements. This is a working manager position. Assures that the project participants are trained in the policies, procedures, processes and practical applications of the Document Control and Records Management system. Assures project compliance with procedures and requirements. Position is located in Idaho Falls, ID. Key responsibilities include: •Leads and directs project Document Control personnel and ensures activities comply with policies and procedures of the project and of Jacobs Nuclear Projects and Consulting (NPC) group. •Identifies staffing needs and provides orientation, training, development, and mentoring of DC staff. •Monitors department work flow and ensures timely processing of the projects controlled documents and records. Performs DC department work as needed. •Manages the storage and control of the central master file for all project and construction records using an EDMS. Audits records and metadata to ensure quality and accuracy of department work. •Ensures current approved versions of controlled documents are in use by project personnel, including subcontractors through a technical change control process. •Coordinates review and approval of subcontractor submittals and RFIs, using an electronic construction management system. •Serves as client interface for Document Control and Records issues. •Compiles work reports as required and conducts routine assessments of the Document Control/Records Management system. Revises project procedures as needed. •Ensures reliability, accuracy and protection of project data, proprietary information, and intellectual property, including controlled unclassified information (CUI).

  • Bachelors Degree in a relevant field plus 10 years document control experience, including working with an EDMS to control documents and records or equivalent. 
  • 15 or more years of total experience 
  • Experience on project(s) in a Nuclear environment.  
  • Advanced level of understanding in word processing, spreadsheet, database applications and EDMS. 
Preferred qualifications: 
  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Construction Management or Project Management. 
  • Construction Document Control experience. 
  • Experience with the following applications: Prolog Converge, Bentley AssetWise/eB or similar program
Essential Functions:  Work Environment Office environment. (95%) May be exposed to areas of high noise levels and heavy construction site activities Physical Requirements: Appropriate PPE and training will be provided for all conditions. Must be able to walk, stand, bend, twist and sit for extended periods (100%) as well as climb, crawl, and lift up to 35 lbs (25%). Inclusion and Diversity: walk, stand, bend, twist and sit for extended periods. Equipment and Machines: Standard office equipment - PC, telephone, fax, copier, video projector and related equipment (90%) Attendance: Regular attendance mandatory (100%) Overtime/work outside normal schedule required Travel required: Less than 5%.  OTHER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS U.S. Citizenship required; No Dual Citizenship allowed. Valid driver's license is required. Must be able to work in a team atmosphere. Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation. Must be able to obtain and maintain access to the INL Reservation as determined by NRF Security. Must take and pass a pre-employment drug and background check.
