Country Manager - Phillippines in Mapping Error!, Philippines

This position acts as the Country Manager for the Philippines and will represent Wood across all Business Units and service lines. The individual will a member of SVP of South East Asia leadership team and responsible for the development and delivery of the business plan by demonstrating proactive leadership to drive high performance across operational, financial and safety metrics. To be successful the individual must be self motivated and have strong commercial knowledge and experience of working within the Philippines to enable them to lead the growth into the wider local market, whilst supporting internationally based projects. The individual will ideally demonstrate high levels of emotional intelligence and collaborative skills to work across Woods different service lines.

Key focus areas include:

  • Effectively developing strong relationships and executing work with existing and new clients
  • Developing and growing relationships within the pre-agreed target markets and clients to increase opportunities and win rates in support of the strategic objectives of the business, including opportunities for cross selling are identified and pursued
  • Providing technical and/or execution support to the Brunei business and project teams
  • Working closely with the Strategy & Development team to develop compelling and commercial competitive proposals for future opportunities within the region
  • Managing the coordination of delivery resources for the Philippines Operations, including the proactive management of the resource pool whilst balancing the need for profitability with the need to support regional growth and strategy.
  • Drive the business development and operational teams to grow smaller contracts and relationships to be of sufficient scale to spin out as stand alone contracts or projects operating outside the current service offering in-country

The role provides direction and leadership for the achievement of strategic goals, vision and shared values through: finance, risk management, change leadership, people and culture, stakeholder management, governance, assurance, compliance, and reputation.  Number of employees will be circa 200.



Skills / Qualifications

  • Degree qualification in Engineering, Scientific Discipline, or related technical field OR degree qualified in a commercial/business discipline with significant experience in a technical organisation.
  • Recognised and accredited management qualification

Knowledge, skills and experience:

  • Excellent leadership capability with passion and ambition to drive business growth and significant experience in managing a profit and loss business.
  • Excellent understanding of project management principles and techniques.
  • Must be familiar with business control applications and processes.
  • Project experience should cover design and implementation of projects in the oil & gas and/or infrastructure industries, preferably in both the onshore and offshore environment.
  • The ability to influence and challenge others to behave in ways consistent with the interest of the organisation
  • A thorough understanding of strategic and change management with the ability to translate this into appropriate goals, methodologies and strategies for implementation.
  • A strong track record in change management, putting high emphasis on co-operation and business partnership across the company and our clients;
  • Demonstrated commitment and experience as a leader in the health, safety and environmental arena, as well as a good understanding of industrial relations regulations
