Job Summary

An Engineering Technician at ExxonMobil Pipeline has many responsibilities that include the following: 

  • ensure the mechanical integrity of Company pipelines is well maintained through cathodic protection, thorough inspections, and timely remediation
  • guaranteeing environmental and regulatory compliance through proper waste management and implementing all required preventative maintenance 
Primary Job Functions
  • Plan & coordinate Cathodic Protection surveys, route surveys, DOT (Department of Transportation) required inspections, preparing cost estimates, hot work/safety procedures, preparing job specifications and bid packages.
  • Responsible for ground bed installations and rectifier maintenance in assigned area
  • Assists with DOT pipeline safety compliance inspections and documentation including valve inspection, shorted casings, navigable water crossings, tank/seal inspections, etc.
  • Plan and Coordinate Environmental and Regulatory compliance activities including waste management, air permit requirements, water regulation, emergency response activities including planning drills and supporting response, and other regulatory requirements
  • Participates in and demonstrates skills from required environmental and regulatory training
Job Requirements
  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of safety guidelines, cathodic protection, environmental (air, water, waste) regulation and sampling, waste disposal requirements, or minor remediation efforts including proper documentation.
  • Technical training focused on basic drafting skills, surveying, intermediate cathodic Protection, intermediate Environmental / Regulatory / Safety, basic electricity, or technical writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and stakeholders
  • Computer skills in Windows, Microsoft WORD and EXCEL
     
Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Demonstrated work experience Cathodic Protection, Waste Management, Air and Water Permitting, Emergency Response in Midstream Pipelines
  • NACE Certifications (Level II or III is preferred)
